Since July 2024, the Campbell family—along with Ben’s friends and extended community—has been working to piece together life after an unimaginable loss. In his memory, the Ben Campbell Memorial Fund was established to continue the legacy of kindness and generosity that defined Ben’s life. In September 2025, the first annual Ben Campbell Memorial 5K was launched to help grow an endowment dedicated to helping others, just as Ben would have wanted. Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, walkers, and runners—over 250 participants, 20 sponsors, and more than $21,000 raised—our hearts are grateful. This year, the 2025 Annual Ben Campbell Memorial 5K marks our second major fundraising event, and we hope to see even more people come together to celebrate Ben’s life and help grow the Fund. The race will begin and end at Ben’s alma mater, Newark High School, with a course that winds through the city of Newark. Walkers and runners of all abilities are warmly welcomed.

Stick around after the race and celebrate with us at Deer Park Tavern! Enjoy a fun-filled after party featuring incredible raffles, exciting fundraising opportunities, and a chance to connect with friends old and new. Last year’s raffle prizes included beach house getaways, sports memorabilia, happy hour baskets, home essentials, and countless other baskets filled with gift cards and goodies—don’t miss out!
